i know this isn’t a kin blog, but it needs to be said.

Your astral wings/tail/ears/etc should not cause you pain. You should not be able to sit on them or crush them. They are not on this plane. If your wings are making your back ache or something similar, see a doctor! its not normal! one thing about the tumblr kin community is that a lot of things are misinterpreted, used incorrectly, or all around simply wrong.

Reminders that even things that feel kintype-related should be checked out by a doctor if they’re causing pain are good, and similar ones are common in witchcraft and pagan spaces for other things. I know there’s a lot of impressionable young people who might neglect their health if they aren’t given that reminder or told to check the ‘mundane’ before looking to other explanations.

I also just have one little thing to add, that phantom (or astral, whichever someone prefers) limbs aren’t just things that exist on another plane, but that our brains map as part of our bodies here, on this one. No one is a bad person (not that OP was suggesting this) for actually experiencing feeling and sensation in them, or else reacting to them with awkward posture meant to accommodate them (like hunching over if you have wings) in ways that might unfortunately not be great for your health. They’re real sensations, and there’s science behind how and why some instances of phantom limbs happen in the brain! 

They’re just ones that should be kept in mind as things that should be checked out if they’re physically painful for any reason, whether it be on their own or as a result of bad posture or something else entirely like nerve or neurological issues.
